DEWALT helps one of its loyal end users spread the DEWALT brand in an unusual way...
A few weeks ago the DEWALT was contacted by an end user who is infatuated with the brand - so much so that he and his family had painted their own sailing boat in the famous yellow and black livery and named it the ‘DEWALT Monkey’!
Mr Sands got in touch through the DEWALT members` website (www.dewalt.eu/members) to ask for some yellow tent material so that he could make some sails for the boat. Although the team cannot always answer all such requests positively, they felt this deserved special attention, and decided to go one step further by having two DEWALT-branded sails created for the family by Simon Matthews of SailStyle UK, Hayling Island (www.sailstyle.co.uk).
Henry Surtees, DEWALT Commercial Marketing Manager EMEA explained “We are a brand that stands for product innovation, quality and "Guaranteed Tough", and this runs through into our support of our most loyal end users who are extremely valuable to us”.
Andy Sands explained the reason behind the decision to use the DEWALT colours : “I have an 8 year old son who shares my passion for the DEWALT brand ... and when I asked what colour to paint the boat there was only going to be one answer - yellow and black!” Mr Sands continued “…my boat originally had blue sails, but both my 8 year old son and my 6 year old daughter told me the sails were the wrong colour - I had no chance of winning that argument.”.
This innovative type of end user support demonstrates how DEWALT is truly passionate about customer activation and engagement.
